Scope note
A numeric measurement used to quantify the tone of light being used for viewing, expressed in terms of the Kelvin scale (K). Typical values that can be assigned according to this scale are: a setting sun 2300 K; a typical incandescent lightbulb 2800–2900 K; a summer daylight sky 5500 K; a cloudy overcast sky 6500–8000 K.
