Describes a carving and painting style that is composed of a curving line used to form abstract patterns, such as spirals, circles, swirls, S-shapes, concentric rings, and wavy lines, as well as to accentuate human facial features. These carvings are primarily found in the Oceanic region of New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
