Scope note
Persons employed to carry baggage for patrons at a hotel or transportation terminal. For those stationed at a door or gate of a public or private building to admit or assist those entering or exiting, use "doorkeepers." May also be used more generally as persons whose occupation is to carry loads; a carrier.
