Fast external serial bus standard for the connection of computer peripheral devices such as cameras, hard drives, and video recorders. It was developed by Apple Computer, and has been licensed to other manufacturers. The term "FireWire" is trademarked, thus the technology is implemented by other manufacturers under various names.
