Scope note
Refers to the period roughly between the fall of the Assyrian Empire in 612 BCE and the rise of the Achaemenid Empire in 539 BCE, during which Mesopotamia was ruled by a new dynasty founded in Babylon by Nabopolassar in 627 BCE. This style is characterized by a revival of Babylonian traditions.
