Scope note
Bayonets that are permanently attached to the firearm barrel, slid forward or unfolded for use by hand or some type of spring mechanism when needed, and retractable when not. They were widely used on pistols and blunderbusses in the 18th and 19th centuries and some 20th century and contemporary military rifles.
