Scope note
Refers to the glyptic style dominant in the Diyala region of Mesopotamia during the first phase of the Early Dynastic period, from about 2900 to 2750 BCE. The style is characterized by an overall patterning of space-filling motifs, which produced in the impression an unbroken frieze.
