Small craft, traditionally clinker-built but more recently of plywood, with flat panels at each end instead of conventional posts; the panel at the bow is usually smaller than the one at the stern. For flat-bottomed, flat-sided, hard-chined inland watercraft, use "prams (bottom-based watercraft)."
