Scope note
Volcanic rock produced by the largest known trachytic phreatoplinian eruption and composed of zeolites such as phillipsite and chabazite. Neapolitan yellow tuff represents the most used building stone of the historical monumental heritage of Naples and also constitutes a significant part of the city modern architecture.
