Trademarked name for a moldable, self-sealing plastic film composed of polyolefins and paraffin wax which is permeable to oxygen and carbon dioxide and resistant to many common reagents. It is used as a moisture barrier film for short-term storage. In conservation it has been used to repair splits and as temporary backing for ivory miniatures; and tested as an adhesive for strip lining of twentieth century paintings.
