Scope note
Sensitive technique for detection and measurement of radioactivity using a detector which flashes when substances known as 'scintillator' materials, incorporated into solid plastics or liquid solvents, convert radiation into flashes of light. The resulting photons are amplified after being converted into electric pulses, and are finally displayed as individual counts.
