Scope note
Objects consisting of a long shaft with a bent or hooked end, usually of wood or metal, that are used to catch or hold another object, especially those used to restrain livestock or to gather hay while reaping. Employed in some cultures as a symbolic or ritual object, such as those used by the Yona Society of the Dogon people, in Mali.
