Scope note
Narrative ceremonial dance cycles practiced by the inhabitants of the eastern Kimberleys region of Australia. The narrative dance is based on the cyclone and serves as a way of explaining such events to the general population. Painted boards and threaded crosses are carried behind the dancers head while performing. The type of material utilized for the dances changes depending of the context of the story.
