Religion of the Aztec culture. It was based on earlier belief systems, filtered down from the Olmecs, Teotihuacan, Monte Alban, Mayan, and fellow Nahuatl-speaking Toltec peoples; was typically Mesoamerican in terms of cosmology, the emphasis on the sun, and even particular deities.
