resistivity
- Scope note
- The power or property of resistance, especially the reciprocal of electrical conductivity. The opposition offered by an object to electrical flow; the degree to which something impedes passage through it of a current. In conservation, means of maximizing such resistance are sometimes sought to protect materials; as with highly impermeable resin coatings to steel in order to strengthen electrical resistance to current corrosion.
