Scope note
Having a form or outline forming a series of wave-like curves, a succession of gently rounded heights and hollows. Used, for example, with reference to architectural features such as arches, moldings, and tracery. For furniture pieces, the fronts of which have alternating concave and convex surfaces, use "serpentine (shape)." For features consisting of or bounded by curved lines in general, use "curvilinear."
