- Small carved wooden or ivory sculptures consisting of a figurine, often a male equestrian or a kneeling woman, and a shallow bowl. The bowl is used to hold the sixteen sacred palm nuts used in Yoruba divination rituals. Such sculptures are works of art commissioned by patrons from the carvers.
