Scope note
An abundant motif in the art of the central highlands of Mexico since Teotihuacan period, generally consisting of a series of rings formed by two simple concentric circles. In pre-Hispanic palatial architecture, these rings are found in series in the upper zone or frieze of the tecpan façade.
