Scope note
Long-distance self-propelled weapons that deliver explosive materials to a target. These are rocket-powered only in the initial phase of flight, then follow an unpowered trajectory that arcs upward before descending to a target. Ballistic missiles can carry either nuclear or conventional warheads.
