- Language that is a member of the Turkic subfamily of Altaic languages, spoken by the Kyrgyz Turkic people, now living primarily in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Pamir Mountains on the border between Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and China. Is written in a Cyrillic alphabet or the Arabic alphabet; Latin script is used in Turkey.
