pear cut
- Scope note
- The pear cut is a combination of a round cut and the marquise cut for gems. The combination of these two cuts is therefore called pear or pearldrop. The pear cut should be cut symmetrically. The rounded corners must be equal to each other and must not have straight facets. With the tip of the pear cut set in a ring pointing towards the nails, the fingers appear longer and narrower, and as a result these shapes are often used on engagement rings.
