Reinforcement may be derived from fibers, filaments, mats, fabrics made of glass, metal, carbon, boron, or aluminum silicate. The types of plastics used for base resins include polyester, epoxy, phenolic, polypropylene, polystyrene, nylon, polycarbonate, and polyphenylene oxide.
