mooring buoys
- Scope note
- Floating objects in fixed positions used by ships or boats for mooring in deep water. Their design incorporates a weight fixed in the bottom of a body of water that acts as an anchor holding the buoy in its position. These are often used in areas near coral reefs to save the reef from damage by the use of ships anchors.
