Scope note
Structures built for festivals, ceremonies, processions, and funerals, particularly when referring to such structures dating to the 17th and 18th centuries in Europe. They may take many forms, including the form of a monument, building, or sculpture. Although macchine may be portable, for more modern portable structures used in parades, use "floats (vehicles)."
