Imari ware

- Arita porcelain ware made from the beginning of the 18th century onwards, characterized by dense, crowded decorations based on native textiles and brocades, painted in several colors, typically with a blackish underglaze and strong blues and reds. It is so named for the port of Imari from where it is shipped.
