bellows (camera components)
- Scope note
- Bellows may be integral parts of a folding- or view camera that are situated between the lens and the film plane, or separate pieces of equipment that are mounted onto a camera. These are expansible, often with accordion folds in the material. By extending the bellows and moving the lens, the photographer may focus on the film plane, and achieve close-up or macro focusing. Bellows also allow the photographer to correct perspectival aberrations by tilting or raising the lens.
