Scope note
Arrangements of ropes, wires, chains, cables, hooks, and other fittings used to support and move components of a constructed thing. A primary example is "nautical rigging," used for securing or supporting masts, yards, and for hoisting, lowering, or trimming the sails. Other examples include, but are not limited to, the wires or cables used to support the structure a hot-air balloon and distribute the load over its surface, the cables supporting the wings of a biplane, and the system of cables, hooks, chains used in hauling logs, and hooks and cables used in architectural construction.
