Scope note
Paper toys and models shaped more or less realistically like airplanes and generally intended to glide through the air with impetus from the human hand. Simple models are folded from virtually any kind of paper by people with no special training into a long, delta-wing shapes. More elaborate and often more lifelike models are carefully crafted from special stiff, lightweight paper, and often painted or otherwise decorated with military insignia and other symbols and designs.
