Scope note
Bells that are used in a carillon, which is a set of stationary hanging bells. Carillon bells are typically cast bronze, thick sided, cup-shaped bells, which are serially played to produce a melody, or sounded together to play a chord. They are typically played with a keyboard, by which keys mechanically activate levers and wires that connect to metal clappers that strike the inside of the bells.
