Scope note
Style and culture of a Siouan-speaking Native American tribe, residing near the Yazoo River's mouth in Mississippi; previously the Ofo lived in the Ohio River Valley, comprised of the present-day states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. French observers from the 1600s noted Iroquois violence as the reason for Ofo movement. During the 1700s, the Ofo joined with the Tunica, Biloxi, and the Avoyel. Today, Ofo descendants are represented in the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe.
