Scope note
Refers to the style and culture of the Kaw (also known as Kansa), an indigenous people of the mid-west United States. The Kaw migrated from their ancestral lands in the lower Iowa valley in 1750, to northeastern Kansas. They were forcibly removed to a reservation in present-day Kay county, Oklahoma.
