Scope note
Refers to the style of porcelain made in China during the T'ang dynasty (618-906 BCE), characterized by streaks and spots of three colors, typically dark blue, turquoise and aubergine. The term also refers to pottery made during the Ming and Ching dynasties (1368-1912), made with the same three colors, but separated by clay ridges outlining the pattern.
