Spiritual clowns that perform during Puebloan ceremonies in the American Southwest; performers provide humor, personify important spirits, and teach cultural values through their dances. Often dressed in distinctive black-and-white striped clothing or bodypaint. Some kachina dolls take the form of koshares.
