- Scope note
- Meaning “seven colors”, a term used to describe a technique of painting on glazed tiles to create tile-work crafts that can be found in ornaments of many architectures and shrines of Iran and can be traced back to the Seljuk dynasty. It features black lines that delineate the tiles' design. The high maturing temperature of this line prevented the low-temperature coloured glazes run together during the firing.
