Scope note
An enhanced technique of liquid chromatography that can be used to analyze particles that are smaller than 2-microns in size. Pumps used in UHPLC or UPLC systems operate above 6,000 PSI, which is typically the upper limit of conventional HPLCs. The technique was first patented in 2004 by Waters with the trademarked acronym “UPLC.”
