Scope note
Ceremonial mens' houses with highly symbolic decorative elements that are located in Papua New Guinea. They are used as meeting places for ceremonies, rituals, production workshops for making ritual objects, and sacred housing for ritual objects. Traditionally, women and uninitiated men were not allowed access to haus tambaran.
