- East Asian vases of a particular shape, being relatively tall with a narrow base, a wide body, and a short neck with narrow opening. Originated as stoneware vessels during the Tang dynasty (618-907) and used for wine; later made of ceramic and used for the display of branches of plum tree blossoms. May be lidded.
