- Wooden containers, usually made of birch bark and sewn together with basswood bast, made to store maple sugar. Particularly made and used by Anishinaabe, Potawatomi, and other Great Lakes Native North American tribes. Sometimes decorated with quillwork, braided sweetgrass, or incised designs.
