- In the Nahuatl language, refers to the loose and boxy, often colorfully embroidered blouse worn by Indigenous women of Mesoamerica. Traditionallly formed from a single rectangular piece of cloth with a slit in the center for the head, folded in half and sewn up the sides leaving openings for the arms. Associated with the skirt called cueitl.
