Scope note
Ritual African cloth associated with the men's association known as Ekpe found among the Igbo and other peoples of the Cross River region of southern Nigeria. Indigo dyed and covered with symbols, including nsibidi, it is usually worn as a wrapper and is the prerogative of the highest grade of Ekpe.
