Bunzlau
- Scope note
- Used to describe ceramics originating from the town of the same name, dating from the Middle Ages. From 1800, the work consisted of stoneware jugs and tableware with a shiny brown slip glaze and applied relief, often in white clay. In 1829, a fledspathic glaze was introduced that gave the work the appearance of porcelain. Styles ranged form Classical to Gothic Revival, and animal, flower, and heraldic motifs survived until the 19th century.
