Scope note
Domains of the admiral under the Real Hacienda, royal tax office, designated by the king of Spain. These domains contain their own jurisprudence and certain rights and responsibilities. Almirantazgos have the right to a significant percentage of the profits obtained from fleets that remain in the harbor. The profits from this percentage also included all activities relating to ships that arrived at the harbor including shipping cost rights, anchoring rights, entrance and exit fees, and loading and unloading fees.
