- Pigment name for a variety of green pigments, originally referring to green created from a mixture of blue and yellow colors prepared by Paolo Veronese, a 16th century Venetian painter. It is also used for any pigment resembling that color, including green earth pigments, copper-based emerald green, viridian, and other pigments of similar color.
