aspersoriums (liturgical vessels)
- Scope note
- Relatively small vessel used in Christian contexts, containing the holy water used for sprinkling in ceremony and liturgy. The holy water bucket is always accompanied by an aspergillum, with which the water is sprinkled. When larger in size, shaped like an inverted cone or bucket, it is called a "situla."
