tjaskers
- Scope note
- Small, primitive windmills designed for drainage of plots of land or at peat digging sites as they are easily moved. Most often identified as a Frisian design, these are found in other Dutch provinces, and Northern Germany. Characterized by a single shaft supporting the sails on one end and an Archimedean screw on the other, allowing for a gearless action.
