Hand-held tools, typically rectanglular, trapezoidal, or triangular in shape and made of plastic, used to flatten any lumps of paste that have accumulated under freshly mounted wallpaper and ensure that the wallpaper rests leveled on the surface to which it is applied. These tools may also take the form of a brush, with short bristles mounted on a rubber or wooden handle, to offer increased flexibility in smoothing wallpaper creases or bubbles. Can also be used as a cutting edge, for example, to remove excess wallpaper at skirting boards.
