leno looms
- Scope note
- Mechanized devices, comprising hairpin-like components called doups attached to the heedle, designed to produce leno weave in which some of the warp ends are twisted partly around, rather than lying parallel with, other ends. To facilitate the leno weaving process, the device's doup alternately pulls the second warp yarn up or down to the right or left of each pick passage, a process that twists the pair of warps around each filling yarn.
