Manual or mechanized devices, comprising rows of pulsating needle-like devices operating along a series of rollers, designed to manufacture carpet or other upholstory products by inserting loose pile yarn into a pre-woven carrier/backing material, thus creating a patterned or looped surface. As yarn is individually fed to each of the needles in the needle row, an additional set of tufting needles is inserted into the backing cloth; before the former row of needles retracts, loopers pick up the yarn in a repeated process that creates a series of loops on the surface of the carrier material.
