temples (loom components)
- Scope note
- Adjustable bars or rods, equipped with teeth at both ends, designed to be inserted into the weaving at the selvedges to adjust the width of the woven cloth and ensure that the cloth remains stretched to the proper width through the course of the weaving process. To prevent the narrowing of fabric and maintain control over the fabric's contractions, these tools keep the fabric stretched by applying tension along the filling direction.
