Scope note
Spindle-shaped loom components, typically made of wood, metal, or plastic, used to transport crosswise weft threads through the lengthwise warp threads to facilitate the introduction of a new series of threads into the woven fabric. This tool is designed to compactly store the weft threads as they are passed back and forth, either manually or mechanically, through the shed.
